BC7830 addresses the need for diverse wireless feature sets in an even smaller form factor than CSR’s industry-leading BC7820. With Bluetooth, GPS and FM Rx/Tx, BC7830 heralds a previously unprecedented level of integration. BC7830 measures a mere 11mm2 making it the world’s smallest GPS combination device, with the nearest competing device being over 50% larger.

Benefits

  • Includes a multi-band GNSS radio and decimation chain optimised for use with a software GPS receiver. It is specifically architected to support multiple radio technologies.
  • It is capable of operating within challenging RF environments such as within a cellular phone using a clock in the range 19.2MHz to 52MHz. Also, it can be used in PNDs or PMPs. eGPS Fine Time and Fine Frequency Aiding are also supported using the high-precision signal timestamp mechanism via a PIO.
  • Includes AuriStream Bluetooth audio transfer which offers significant power reduction over the CVSD-based system when used at both ends of the link.
  • The device incorporates auto-calibration and BIST routines to simplify development, type approval and production test.
  • Can support receiving or transmitting FM radio broadcasts with simultaneous use of Bluetooth voice or data connections and GPS.
